Peel Ports are proposing the introduction of a Conservancy Fee for every leisure boat (6m-24m) in the Clydeport Harbour Area from April 2025.
There is a great deal of concern and objections regarding this proposal and clubs and individual members are being encouraged to respond.
HLSC Board will be writing to object and encourages members to respond too.
Background
Here is a statement from the RYA who note that there has been no formal public consultation and that while they recognise the right of Peel Ports to levy fees, it is clear in the Clyde Ports Order 1965 that charges made must be for very specific services and be reasonable.
We have emailed HLSC members further information that may be of interest.
